WHAT IS CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol, a non-psychotropic compound found in the hemp plant, meaning it cannot get you high. When administered, CBD interacts with something in our bodies called the Endocannabinoid System, a network of neurotransmitters which our cells use to communicate with each other. This system is involved in regulating mood, appetite, pain, memory and supporting daily wellbeing.

WHY DO I NEED CBD?

The Endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex system found in all human beings that is involved in maintaining our health and wellbeing. Research demonstrates that the Endocannabinoid system is responsible for regulating many of our bodies regular daily functions. From mood to mobility, pain, inflammation, temperature, immune system, appetite, focus/attention capacity and are cellular communication and health.
Like many other bodily functions, sometimes these are not always balanced or working/producing accurately (cannabinoid deficiencies). CBD’s Cannabinoids not only regulate ECS functions that are over producing but they also encourage endocannabinoids that are lacking or not contributing at all to start creating again, and providing a balanced amount is key to achieving bodily homeostasis. The diagram on the left shows you how CBD can aid your body

HOW DOES CBD WORK?

CBD works by attaching cannabinoids to our body’s Endocannabinoid systems receptors – CB1 and CB2, allowing them to regulate functions which support and promote our health and wellbeing. It is important to note here that CBD/cannabinoids are not inhibitors; they are regulators.
